Vaccine labeling for high speed & continuous operation

Labeling vaccines in vials and other round formats precisely and in high numbers with HERMA labeling machines

It is the time of the pacesetters: this has probably never been as important as in the development of the vaccine during a pandemic, its mass production and worldwide distribution.

Absolutely reliable vaccine labeling of each individual vial is absolutely essential in this process. In the shortest possible time, the 132M HC wrap-around labeler can label many millions of vaccine vials. With maximum precision and performance as well as uncompromising healthcare process reliability. And particularly valuable in the current situation is the modular design of the 132M HC. This makes it available at short notice - and ultimately a safe vaccine. With wrap-around labeling of up to 600 products per minute and, if desired, with reel changeover without downtime, you will master your part of what is currently arguably society's most important task.

What are the requirements for vaccine labeling machines?

HERMA Vaccine Labeling Vial with Label
  • High performance, highly flexible equipment and best process control.
  • Short-term provision, as existing labeling capacities at pharma manufacturers and packaging service providers are far from adequate.
  • The ability to label non stop at high speed.
  • Machine downtimes due to reel changes or changeovers must be reduced to the absolute minimum.
  • Labeling even on heavily frozen surfaces must be ensured.

Our bestseller 132M HC is the perfect choice for exactly these challenging requirements:

Automated packaging machine with multiple stations, displays, and conveyor system for processing products.

Due to its modular design, our labeling solution has two major advantages:

It is based on function groups that have been tried and tested in practice because they are produced in large quantities. Standardized in this way, it is available very quickly.

At the same time, the system remains highly flexible and offers a large number of individual options, a kind of off-the-shelf customization. Depending on the customer's requirements, all common printing and control systems can be seamlessly integrated.

Further advantages of HERMA labeling machines at a single glance:

A label printer with a large roll and a dispensing mechanism that is used for printing labels.

400 products per minute - plus power reserve

The 132M HC is able to continuously call up the required speed with maximum functional reliability and process control. The integrated HERMA 500 could easily increase the output by as much as 25 percent.

Vaccine labeling - HERMA Easycutter and Easysplicer

Reel change without downtime

With two optional modules, the EasyCutter and the EasySplicer, the 132M HC is able to produce almost continuously. The EasySplicer is used to speed up label roll changing. Two label rolls are arranged vertically one above the other in the special module for this purpose. The active label web is guided over a splicing table and fixed there at the end of the web. Because the EasySplicer is equipped with a label buffer, the labeling machine continues to operate despite the end of the tape. A skilled operator can then carry out the splicing process in such way that the new label tape is spliced to the fixed tape before the buffer has run out. If this is not the case, the machine simply stops automatically.

With the EasyCutter it is possible to vacuum up the empty liner and chop it into small pieces. The shreds are automatically collected and can then be recycled. Manual removal from the empty carrier tape is therefore no longer necessary.

HERMA Vaccine Labeling Tray with Turntable

From the tray directly to the turntable

Increasing the overall line efficiency is one of the aims of the new turntable that can be fitted to the intake and discharge of the 132M HC. It has a magazine holder for complete trays and is also extremely quiet and low in vibration

HERMA Vaccine labeling with rotary star

Future-proof due to fast format changeovers

To ensure that the disc is reliably emptied and thus meet the "Line Clearance" requirement, the last products in each batch are conveyed onto the conveyor belt with the use of compressed air. To ensure that the labeling machine can be changed over quickly, individual format parts such as the rotary star can be exchanged without tools and in just a few steps. Electronic position indicators additionally simplify all necessary settings.

Highest safety for vaccine labeling

Maximum security for vaccine labeling

HERMA offers a wide range of possible control systems to guarantee maximum security and maximum reliability in printing, coding and labeling.

From inlet jam control, print control, label presence control, control of outlet jam or ejection of fallen products, code control, in-process control, data acquisition for batch report, audit trail, qualification up to controlled product or label ejection, everything is possible.
