Linerless labeling with the HERMA InNo-Liner labeling machine

Print shipping labels without backing material, avoid thousands of tons of waste material and, at the same time, reduce your carbon footprint – this is all possible thanks to our sustainable and innovative PA4 / PA6 InNo-Liner Print & Apply System

Efficiency, process reliability and speed are just a few of the key features of our PA4 / PA6 InNo-Liner Print & Apply System. The material is printed, cut, activated and applied with the labeling machine and the combined cutting component, micro-atomization component and linear tamp unit. Thanks to the HERMA InNo-Liner and the patented, multi-layer pressure-sensitive adhesive, thousands of tons of backing paper or backing film and the cost of their disposal can be saved every year. Based on end-to-end knowledge and experience, HERMA offers users a complete solution with economic and ecological advantages at every step of the way.

  • Immediate advantages

Thanks to its end-to-end knowledge, HERMA offers a complete solution from the outset: linerless adhesive and label material plus an innovative labeling machine. Users benefit instantly from a holistic and high-performance concept, while label manufacturers are able to offer a unique solution with a whole host of advantages, including a reduction in disposal costs and storage space.

  • Highly effective

Shipping labeling around the world currently results in millions of tons of waste liner material. Completely eliminating this waste product also avoids the need for expensive disposal or recycling processes in this area of application. Good for the environment and good for your business.

  • Knowledge is the key to success

The innovative HERMA InNo-Liner System was created thanks to HERMA's pioneering work and many years of advancement in multi-layer technology for adhesive material production. This revolutionary technology requires the simultaneous application of two layers of adhesive. The outer adhesive layer remains inactive and is only activated during the dispensing process.

Cutting unit

After printing, the label is cut to the desired length by the cutting unit. A modified guillotine cutting technique extends the service life to several million cuts and simplifies the blade replacement process.

Micro-atomization unit

At the time of dispensing, a completely water-based activation process ensures that the label adheres immediately, evenly and extremely durably. The water consumption of the system is extremely low. Filling the water tank is quick and easy. The water, partly recovered during the atomization process, is filtered and reused.

Linear tamp unit

A vacuum suction plate with an application roller and an integrated sensor for automatic cardboard height detection ensure reliable application. The stroke length of the cylinder is 500 mm.

Labeling

The 82S pressure-sensitive adhesive is initially deactivated and non-tacky. When dispensed, the adhesive is activated within a split second and adheres permanently. The material reliably achieves the required durability both in the climate chamber and in practical tests during printing and processing.

Functionality: Linerless labeling in 4 steps

Using innovative technology, the new InNo-Liner System effortlessly retains the speed of a Print & Apply System and the cycle time usually required for labeling shipping boxes, but instead uses linerless A5 and A6 labels. For the logistics and shipping industries, this is an immediate game changer in terms of cost reductions as well as environmental benefits. Material that is no longer needed does not have to be disposed of or recycled at great expense. The labels can be pre-printed in color using the conventional printing process. The labeling machine can be equipped with an optional thermal transfer printer or thermal direct printer for printing the variable data.
