HERMA offers these retrofits

Since there are so many different ways of carrying out a retrofit in any individual case, we’ve decided to list a few examples for you here. We offer retrofits for a wide range of components, including

  • Chain aligner
    A machine component with an orange element, metal surfaces, and a chain drive, mounted in an industrial setting.

    Up to now, you’ve been using a belt aligner on your HERMA labeling machine in order to achieve particularly precise labeling with a high level of repeat accuracy. As part of the ongoing development of our product range, we replaced the belt aligner with a chain aligner. As of right now, you can replace it with a new, even more wear-resistant chain aligner. Looking ahead, you can avoid unplanned downtimes should the worst come to pass.

    With HERMA machines, such an exchange is possible without any problems. The mechanical connection remains the same; the existing tripod is used. It’s not necessary to change the program; only the circuit diagram needs to be modified. To ensure that the entire module is technically up to date and that the full system performance is maintained, the motor, actuator, filter and cables are also replaced along with the aligner.

  • HMI-Panel

    In order to continue to operate your labeling machine safely and even more efficiently, we recommend taking a look at the label on the back of your HMI panel. If the model number on the label is MP 370 or MP 377, it’s time for them to be replaced as these previous models have been discontinued. An innovative replacement with the usual reliable support is what you can expect with the new SIMATIC HMI TP 1200 comfort panels.

    The new series is one-to-one compatible, and your HERMA service technician can easily exchange them without having to install any new wiring. Existing formats are secured, migrated and adapted. The new service period is long-term, as before; and if desired, you are welcome to receive documentation and qualification. Extend your machine’s service life and avoid downtimes.

    With our winding system, your HERMA applicator is a real high-speed guarantor. Replace your previous first or second generation system in time, which has already been discontinued after its long time in the HERMA range. With foresight, you can avoid downtimes if the worst comes to the worst. The good thing about it is that with HERMA you don‘t have to replace the entire applicator, just the winding system.

    The motorized rewinders and unwinders including loop unit then not only achieve the decisive performance increases as usual, they also continue to optimize the overall production runtime and increase machine availability. Even for tried-and-tested lines, this allows service life to be extended and downtimes to be minimized.

    The current drives are ideally suited to modern machine concepts, as they offer maximum precision, performance, safety and user-friendliness with extremely compact dimensions. Resonance frequencies and vibrations are virtually eliminated. Practically maintenance-free and one-to-one compatible, they can easily be exchanged by your HERMA service technician.   • Base unit

    The basic unit of the HERMA 400 can be exchanged to the current basic unit of the HERMA 500.

    Sensor components, such as contrast sensors used for checking label presence or for aligned labeling, can be renewed with HERMA Retrofits.

We’ll then arrange an in-depth meeting and discussion with you – ideally at the site where your HERMA machine is installed – so that we can answer all the most important questions for you in person and show you which retrofit options are the perfect fit for your setup.
